Never feel bad about seeking out old friends, even the ones you haven’t talked to in years. They’re usually delighted to hear from you. There may be a few minutes of awkwardness when you first get together, but then you’ll find the years just disappear and you fall back into your long-forgotten banter and it’s a wonderful relief.

You’re a good soul and people love you. Go ahead and reach out to them – you’ll be happily surprised.

Very good review.

The only thing I take issue with is your not liking newer arrangements to some of the older hits.

These arrangements take the old songs and make them much more entertaining especially in a live setting. Re-creating them as they were would take away the dazzle expected in a quick moving live show.

As far as “The Four Dudes”, I think they also provide more
stage presence than just carting out musicians who would make you believe they were the Four Seasons.

Not sure. My first batch seemed weird too – it also didn’t seem to bubble like it should have. I’m guessing it should smell like fermented ginger – sour? My sister makes it all the time, so I should ask her and report back.

How would you describe the odor of your soda culture? I have never made a lacto-fermented soda culture before and I don’t know what to expect. My culture smells a bit weird to be honest (kind of like ginger root and sour milk/rotting potatoes) – not my idea of “pleasant smelling”. I am on my second attempt, but the new culture smells the same as the previous one, and I followed all the directions to the letter as described in the videos.
